Angel hair pasta with lemon, ham and ginger

A dish of angel hair pasta with lemon, ham and ginger may sound like an odd and unconventional Italian pasta. However, please give this recipe a go. It is devine!

Ingredients – serves 1 – 2

  • 6 – 8 ounces (150 grams) capellini angel hair pasta
  • 4 slices cooked ham
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • zest of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • a knob of butter
  • powdered ginger
  • salt
 
  1. Put the onion in a pan with a knob of butter and lemon zest. Cook at low heat for two minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, chop the slices of ham.
  3. Add them to the onions. Fry for 2 minutes. Meanwhile, boil the capellini in lightly salted water until cooked to al dente.
  4. Add the cream to the sauce and season with salt.
  5. Drain the pasta and toss in the sauce.
  6. Serve with a dusting of ginger and a thinly cut slice of lemon.
